From Freestyles to Twitch Chats: An Interview with JBish

Every once in a while, an artist comes along whose story feels as raw as the beats they rap over. JBish is one of those artists. His music defies genres, blending everything from trap to metal, and his journey is a testament to the power of self-expression and resilience. I recently had the chance to sit down with JBish and dive into his world—from his creative process to where he sees his career heading. https://linktr.ee/jbish29

Humble Beginnings

JBish didn’t start with dreams of rap superstardom. In fact, he wasn’t even interested in rapping at first.

“I started with my homie 007, who makes beats,” JBish explains. “I didn’t even want to rap, but he’d always be making beats. We’d freestyle for fun, and that turned into us recording them. That was the start.”

From there, his love for music grew. Influenced by bands like Slipknot and A Day to Remember in his early years, he found his way into rap around the age of 10. “That’s probably where the different styles of my music come from,” he says.

The Role of Music in His Life

For JBish, music isn’t just a hobby—it’s a lifeline. When asked where he’d be without it, his answer is blunt and honest: “Not gonna lie—dead or in jail. I use it as a venting space. It’s kept me busy and out of a lot of trouble, for sure.”

That venting space isn’t just about creating beats or writing lyrics; it’s about channeling raw emotion. “As a man, I honestly hate talking about my problems,” JBish admits. “So, I express it all in my music. You can hear it.”

A Twitch-Fueled Breakthrough

While music has always been personal for JBish, he realized it had the potential to go further during his time in Twitch chats. “Once I started going into Twitch chats and people were amazed at the music, I knew I had something,” he shares. “I’ve always liked making music alone, so I’ve been my only judge. Seeing that reaction made me realize others connected with it, too.”

This connection inspired JBish to release 29 Feet Below, a Twitch-inspired project featuring beats from producers he met on the platform and an interlude spotlighting streamers he respects. “Twitch really pushed me to make more music, get it out there, and stay motivated. That project came with a lot of blessings.”

Creative Process and Style

One of the most striking things about JBish is his versatility. From hard trap to melodic vibes to metal-inspired tracks, he’s done it all. “I honestly can’t describe my style,” he says. “If you look at my catalog, I’m positive I’ve hit every genre. I just do what I’m feeling that day.”

His process is just as fluid. “I haven’t written a song in years. I freestyle and punch in the bars. Usually, a song only takes me about 20 minutes to finish.”

On Stage and Beyond

Though he describes himself as someone who hates being around people, JBish comes alive on stage. “The stage is the one place where I feel at home,” he says. “I love getting hype.”

As for dream performances? “I’d love to perform overseas since I’ve never been, but honestly, I’d be happy to perform anywhere.”

Looking Ahead

For JBish, music isn’t just about personal expression—it’s also about making a difference. “I want to show kids that you can still be tough and hard while making music that expresses your feelings. It makes you tougher to open up like that.”

His vision for the future is simple but profound. “I just want to make a living off this,” he says. “I’ve worked every job possible, and I can’t do that forever. I want to support my family and friends by doing what I love.”

When it comes to his evolving sound, JBish is as curious as anyone. “My music has consistently changed since I started, so I’m excited to see where my mind takes me next.”

Final Thoughts

JBish is an artist who wears his heart on his sleeve—both in his music and in life. His journey, from freestyling for fun to captivating Twitch audiences, showcases the power of authenticity.

Whether he’s creating a high-energy track, a heartfelt melody, or blending genres in unexpected ways, one thing is clear: JBish is carving out a space all his own in the music world.

If you’re not already listening, now’s the time to tap into JBish’s ever-evolving sound. This is just the beginning.Go check him out at https://linktr.ee/jbish29
